And the Kings are off to a 0-2 season start. But it's no big deal, since last season we started out 0-4 and ended up winning 50+ games, and made the playoffs. Next game is Sunday night against the Phoenix Suns. Well, I just mainly wanted to update with some pictures of Brad so here they are.

Kings Stung By Hornets.... [01 Nov 2005|08:00pm]

love_thinker
[ mood | blah ]

Sacramento Kings: 67
New Orleans Hornets: 93

The Kings got their butts kicked by 26 points tonight by the New Orleans Hornets. The Kings only had two players in double figures, Peja Stojakovic scoring 18 points, and Shareer Abdur-Rahim notching in 14 points as well. The rest of the team scored in low single figures ranging from 1 to 8 points. Now, that is just pathetic. However, the Kings forced 21 turnovers but managed only five fast-break points. Our FG and 3pt percentages are a lot lower than usual. I know this is only the first game in the preseason, but come on to lose this badly.

I guess there is really nothing else to say about this game, other than that we have a long way to go, and we need to pick it up. This is no way to open up a new season, losing to a low-ranked NBA team like the Hornets.

This is worth a laugh. Seriously. :P

Camping with Anwar Ferguson
It's always the weight question with Ferguson, whose 7-foot frame and 200-pound listing spark endless inquiries about his diet. So as the big man out of the University of Houston returned for his second camp with the Kings, we threw a few new ones his way after practice.
Q: What veterans are toughest on the young guys?

A: Brad Miller.

Q: What does he do?

A: I was here last year, and he had us out here in some really tight shorts. He hid all of our shorts. And we'd have to get them stuff; buy them things they don't even need like tampons, dog food.

Q: What do you do in your spare time?

A: Right now, not much. I'm normally tired right now after practice.

Q: Do you play any video games?

A: Yeah, my favorite is "Mortal Kombat."

Miller rehabilitates his mind over offseason
By Sam Amick -- Bee Staff Writer
Published 2:15 am PDT Thursday, October 6, 2005

Not long after the Kings' season had ended in Seattle, Brad Miller was walking out of a despondent locker room on his way to the offseason.

A media member asked him for a phone number for those next few months, somewhere to reach him if big news broke and an interview was desperately needed.

"Ain't nothing important enough for anyone to find me," Miller said before he was gone.

Like whoa! This community hasn't been updated in like 2 months! The mods are bad. :P Anywaaaaaaaay, y'all have a new co-mod here, and that's ME! Booyah. LMAO! J/K. But yes, I am the new co-mod here. :) Let's get this place up to date. :P

The Kings has released their schedule for the '05-'06 season! You can check it out HERE. The first pre-season game is on October 11th. And we play the Dallas Mavericks. Bleh. The Kings have signed Shareef Abdur Rahim. We no longer have Cuttino Mobley, he signed a 5 year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. Boo! During the 2005 NBA Draft, we drafted Francisco Garcia. Hm, Bobby Jackson got traded to Memphis Grizzlies. BOOOO! And we got Bonzi Wells in return. Guh. So yeah, you should all know that by now though. :P I guess that should be all, since it's still offseason, and there's not much news! :\

Anyway, here's a Brad Miller colorbar that y'all can use! :)

Gosh, I haven't updated this community in 2 months! I'm such a horrible moderator. :P Well, you probably already know that we signed Bonzi Wells, and Shareef Abdur-Rahim, and that Bobby Jackson and Greg Ostertag were traded...so I really can't update with any of that. So, here's a poll just so I can have an excuse to acutally update this community.

Guess who was staying at the Grand Wailea in Maui where I was staying to:

BRAD MILLER!!!!!!!!!!! and Greg Ostertag!!
It was so cute they were vacationing together! Brad was with his fioncee ( I guess its his fioncee cause I overheard her talking to Greg's wife about their wedding) and Greg with his wife and kiddies. The first day I saw Brad I was laying by the pool and my Mom goes wow hes tall and I look up and its Brad fucking Miller. I couldnt breath I was shaking. I was like OMNG ITS BRAD MILLER. My Mom said she wishes she had my reaction on film. Then I took nonchalant pics of them trying not to be TOO obvious. Then the next day they come and sat right in front of us at the beach. I come back from being in the water and was like what the fuck am I in heaven?! There they were building sand castles and getting ready to go snorkling. It was insane. I am still in awe that I saw my favorite basketball player. Out of anyone I could have seen I saw Bradley :::HUGE SMILE:::

Pair of Kings likely to leave
Songaila, Mobley plan to opt out of contracts
By Sam Amick -- Bee Staff Writer
Published 2:15 am PDT Wednesday, May 25, 2005

One provided inside muscle off the bench with a deft touch from the outside.
The other added potent offense, a scoring, slashing presence whose long-range ability was among the league's best.

Yet the versatile Darius Songaila and Cuttino Mobley may have honed their crafts as Kings for the last time.
Songaila's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said it's likely the reserve will opt out of his contract before the June 30 deadline. Songaila, entering his third season, has a player option on the deal that would pay him $1.76 million in 2005-06. He was the 10th-highest paid King last season.

"If had to guess, that's what would happen," Bartelstein said of Songaila testing the market. "He loves it in Sacramento, thinks the world of (coach) Rick (Adelman), (president of basketball operations) Geoff (Petrie) and the coaching staff. If he chooses to opt out, it's nothing against Sacramento. He just sees the value of a (new) contract."

Bartelstein said he hasn't spoken to Petrie, though he plans to soon.

Mobley, meanwhile, announced Friday on Fox Sports Network that he planned to decline his player option for next season.

"I would love to play for Sacramento again, but I'm going to have the opportunity to opt out," Mobley said on "Best Damn Sports Show Period." "And I think it's best for me, and for my family and for the future of Cuttino."

Mobley averaged 17.8 points per game and shot 44 percent as a King. Songaila averaged 7.5 points and 4.2 rebounds last season.

According to Kings media relations director Darrin May, Mobley has not contacted the Kings about his decision. Petrie and Mobley were unavailable for comment.

Songaila and Mobley would be the first departures among the at-risk Kings. Center Greg Ostertag has said he will return, exercising the option on his contract worth $4.4 million. Guards Maurice Evans and Eddie House are free agents who have yet to be addressed, and Petrie has said that the Kings will pick up the team option for guard Bobby Jackson.

But unless the NBA and the players' union agree on a new collective bargaining agreement before July 1 and avoid a lockout, the moves may be moot. Negotiations stalled last week, but Commissioner David Stern said Tuesday that talks are ongoing.

"Especially with the team we've got right now, that wouldn't be good," guard Kevin Martin said of a possible lockout. "I think it'd be unhealthy because everybody loves basketball. The fans make our league go. That would hurt the fans as much as the players."

Kings Season Comes to an End [04 May 2005|08:07pm]

Sacramento Kings: 118
Seattle Supersonics: 122

The Kings put up an amazing fight in Game 5. But unfortunately is was too little, too late for the Kings who were eliminated in the first round by the Seattle Supersonics.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The Kings hadn't exited in the first round since 2000, when they lost a decisive fifth game to the Lakers. This year's playoffs also marked the first time in franchise history they'd trailed 3-1 in a series. ``Somebody has to lose,'' said Mike Bibby, who scored 35. ``I'm not happy it was us. We gave it our all.'' Peja Stojakovic had 38 points but missed his first six shots of the fourth quarter when the Kings needed him most. Up to that point, he'd shot 13-of-17 for 31 points. ``We lost the series. You can't look at individual stats,'' Stojakovic said. ``You've got to give them credit. They came to our house and stole one.'' Stojakovic finally connected, pulling Sacramento to 120-118 on a 3-pointer with 36 seconds to play, but Allen answered by splitting three defenders as he drove the lane for a layup with 12.8 seconds remaining. I'm certainly glad the Kings ended their season last night...however hard it was...it just made it easier on us Kings fans. Summer will be time to get to know one another, and learn each other's games. Five months until we get to see the Kings back on the court again. That's a long time! But I'm sure us Kings fans will get through it. And I would like to Thank the Kings for such an amazing season, and see you in October! LONG LIVE THE KINGS!

'05-'06 We'll be back LARGE AND IN CHARGE and ready TO KICK SOME ASS!

Seattle Pours it on the Kings.... [02 May 2005|12:19am]

love_thinker
[ mood | disappointed/ashamed ]

Sacramento Kings: 102
Seattle Supersonics: 115

This game was absolutely disappointing. The Kings got off to an amazing start, and then in the second half that all went out the window.

The Kings let Ray Allen score 45 points. They practically let him have everything he wanted. Our defense seemed to give up on guarding him. Peja Stojakovic scored 27 points to lead six players in double figures for the Kings. Mike Bibby had another poor shooting game, making just 4-of-17 from the field. This was a game we so badly needed. And now we go back to Seattle on Tuesday...just great. I don't see us making it any further...not with the lack of defensive effort we all witnessed tonight. It will take a huge miracle for us to pull an upset and win this series. We can never have all of our guys shooting well...one night it's Bibby, then another night it's Thomas...or Peja. This game left me quite heartbroken, I haven't cried like that...since we lost Game 7 to the Lakers in 2002. The Kings will have a nice time reviewing tonight's game footage tomorrow. They'll be embarrassed...and ashamed once they see how badly they played...and how they gave up so easily. I can honestly say that I'm utterly and deeply ashamed of them right now. This game was within our grasp...and we threw it away. Next game is Tuesday, in Seattle.
